"The Finish Line"
My short story "The Finish Line" is up in Issue Two of Ruthless Peoples Magazine. Ruthless Peoples Magazine is a fine new journal out of the UK. Its editor, Dominic Hamer, and his crew run an excellent operation. I'm very excited to be included in this issue. Keep up the excellent work Dom et al!

Murdering Our Darlings
My short "Murdering Our Darlings" is up on Red Peter. Thanks, Steve. This is a big departure from my usual narrative style, and was inspired by a recent three-day camping trip I took with my daughter's 4th Grade Class. The trip triggered a lot of "voices" from my own childhood, most of which I'd be quite happy to forget.
My own childhood experiences aside, a total of one hundred children attended the above-mentioned camp, and over the course of the trip I really became aware of an overall absence of RESPECT for children in our society, not unlike the absence of RESPECT for our aged. Okay, I'm getting down off my soapbox now. As always, thanks for reading.

A Family Outing
My story "A Family Outing" is up at Bartleby Snopes. I hope you enjoy. This is perhaps the story I feel most proud to have published to date. Is that okay to say about my own work?

"What Stays"
My short short story "What Stays" is up at LiteralMinded. Unfortunately, this will be the last issue of LiteralMinded. I wish its editor, Dan Fearnley, and all his colleagues there the very best of luck in their future endeavors.

Nude
I'm still doing a happy dance after receiving on Friday a charcoal drawing from my friend and fellow Mills Alum, Sarah Stevenson. Sarah and I completed our MFA in fiction together, and until recently I had no idea that in addition to being a skilled writer, she is also a gifted artist.
When I saw the wonderful male and female nude drawings on Sarah's blog I immediately contacted her asking if I could purchase one. Less than two weeks later I'm the proud owner of this beautiful charcoal drawing. Please visit Sarah's website at sarah (at) thedecklededge (dot) com to see more of her work and to contact her directly. Thank you, Sarah!

"Those Nights"
Tuesday Shorts is a literary 'zine showcasing very, very, very, short works of fiction, and is a fantastic read. "Very short" means 100 words or less, which is challenging, but check out these works and their writers. There are some seriously compelling pieces here. My "Those Nights" is up here. I hope you enjoy, and as always thanks for reading.
