This was a poignant story. It reminds me of my father when he brought presents home for my mother. She'd always say, "You shouldn't spend money on me!" but was smiling the whole time.
Beautiful story, Ethel - it made me smile the sweet gesture - simple things mean so much. You captured a magical moment. I also loved the postcard - yet to learn a language we both understand - Powerful!
